Is your phone eSIM compatible?

eSIMs only work on some devices. Check compatibility by searching your device brand and model.
Apple
Most iOS devices will allow you to use eSIM. 
Follow these steps to see if your iPhone is carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible:
  • Go to Settings > General > About
  • Scroll down to view the Carrier Lock section
  • If your device is unlocked, it will show “No SIM restrictions”
  • Scroll down to Available SIM (iOS 15 or later) or Digital SIM (earlier iOS versions)
  • If your phone supports eSIMs, it will show a 15-digit IMEI number.

Some Android devices provide information about eSIM support within their settings menu. Here’s how you can check:

  • Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  • Look for a section related to SIM cards or mobile networks. This may vary depending on the device model and manufacturer.
  • If your device supports eSIM, there may be an option to add or manage eSIM profiles within this menu.

If you have another Android device, you can check if your phone has an EID (Embedded Identity Document Number). This is a serial number matching the eSIM embedded in your device. Here’s how:

  • Dial *#06# and press call
  • If your device is eSIM-compatible, you’ll be able to view your EID number.

Is your phone unlocked?

If you’ve paid off your phone, chances are its ‘Unlocked’ from your current carrier.

If you recently got a new phone and the cost of phone is baked into your monthly wireless bill, chances are your phone is ‘Locked‘. If you current phone is locked by your carrier, contact them directly to find out how to unlock it!

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes! You can keep your existing phone number when you switch. You do have the option to get a new one, but we’ll show you how to port your number in the checkout process. 
Do I get unlimited inmate calls?
No. Cidmobile plans reward you with Cidspace points for switching and each month you renew your plan.
Using the Cidspace app, you can exchange your points for free Cidnet data.
1,000 Cidspace Points = 100 Megabytes of Cidnet Data
($30 saved in Cidnet for switching)
100 Cidspace Points = 10 Megabytes of Cidnet Data

What happens if I run out of wireless data?
You can upgrade your Cidmobile plan to one with a higher data allotment. You also can buy a 1 Gig or 2 Gig Top Up to get you through the month if you’re not on the Everything plan that comes with unlimited data.
How can I check the coverage in my area?
Since our plans are powered by AT&T, you can expect to have top-notch coverage. If you want to make absolutely sure you’ll get full coverage at your address, you can use the AT&T coverage checker.
What if I already use AT&T?

Even though we run on the same network we are separate from direct AT&T plan. Cidmobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator that is partnered with AT&T. If your phone is unlocked, you can switch from AT&T to Cidmobile!

Are there any hidden fees?
No, however, regular telecom taxes and fees are applied to your subscription. The exact amount is based on your location. You’ll be able to see your subscription total before you check out, so there are no surprises.
